Autism

“One relative told us staff had introduced more sensory stimulation including lights in their room. This had helped their loved one and their reaction to certain events.”
CQC Report July 2021 for Seeds Care Ltd

Autism is a developmental disability and is a spectrum condition due to the large variation in the way it affects people. No two people on the autism spectrum are affected the same, some may require 24-hour support whilst others won’t require any support. It is estimated that approximately 700,000 people in the UK are autistic (National Autistic Society).

Seeds Care works hard to ensure individuals with autism spectrum disorders are supported and their needs are met. From overcoming communication challenges to nurturing interests and hobbies, our team are committed to creating a comfortable home environment for all our service users.

Our staff use a range of communication tools from picture exchange communication systems to Makaton to enable effective communication, ensuring we understand individual’s wants and needs. This creates a culture of empowerment to enable service users to feel respected, whilst promoting choice and independence.
